Cloudpaging Server 9.8 released!

In this version of Cloudpaging Server and Enterprise Portal, the primary focus was implementing device constraints into Enterprise Portal. The new Device Constraints feature allows administrators to identify specific devices for deployment of certain applications (e.g., to deploy offline enabled apps to laptop devices). This can be used in combination with the current Users and Groups assignments, giving administrators greater control over how applications are auto deployed to endpoints. We also spent a lot of time and effort on enhancing the logging as well as updating existing third-party libraries and prerequisites, enhancing the list of OS compatibility on license policies, improving application publishing. We also fixed a few Cloudpaging Server bugs reported by customers.

Please see the release notes attached to our Cloudpaging 9.8.0 - Server Release & Upgrade Notes article for a full list, including detailed information on the improvements made in Cloudpaging Server 9.8.

  • Device Constraints with Enterprise Portal Device constraints will take precedence over normal subscriptions, meaning if an application’s license policy is subscribed to a User and constrained to a Device, then the application will only be provisioned to users when they are on the constrained device.

This enhancement will apply to all principal types (User, Group, and Device), including Groups that contain Active Directory (AD) computer objects (devices) as members.

This enhancement applies to Device principal types, including Groups that contain AD computer objects (devices) as members. Nested groups with devices are also supported. This enhancement will not apply to end-users logged into the Enterprise Portal storefront.

If a user is subscribed to multiple license policies for the same application or appset the following logic is applied:
    1. If only a single license policy applies due to a device constraint set, that policy will be deployed.
    2. If all license policies are configured with device constraints, the license policy name on top of the alphanumeric list will be deployed.
    3. If none of the license policies have a device constraint, the license policy name on the top of the alphanumeric list will be deployed.

  • Improved Application Publishing Previously, all existing applications had to be validated prior to the publishing of new applications. With the current improvement, new applications will be added to the system faster after startup.

  • Improved Logging Revamped troubleshooting establishes more comprehensive logs, enabling administrators to quickly identify and resolve issues.
